Awesomely Bad Portraits →
I miss the days of being dragged to take portraits like these (not really).
Love, true love...
I stole this from Becki's blog (mypov.tumblr.com)
Becki: The stores already have Valentine's day stuff out.
Jason: Oh man, that means I have to buy you something.
Becki: No, just write me a letter about how you feel about me.
Jason: I would just rather buy you something.

Just found out a friend killed himself yesterday. Reading over the post I made a few months back about the crazy times we had fishing. What a shock and a shame!

Just in terms of allocation of time resources, religion is not very efficient....

Judging by the number of new Mac, iPod and iPhone questions I’ve received this morning, Apple has done well this holiday season.

How to make the kids behave on Christmas Eve
For those of you with small children, here’s a little trick to make sure the kids are behaving on Christmas Eve.
What you do is call a friend (preferably one the kids don’t know) and ask him to call back in a couple of minutes and talk to the kids. Of course when he calls, he pretends to be Santa Clause and informs the kids that they need to be good, because he hasn’t left the...
While looking at a live nativity...
Becki: Look at the shepards.
Peyton: Is that our bug man?
Becki: It sure is!
Happy Festivus!
Enjoy not having to decorate the Festivus Pole. Enjoy the Feats of Strength. Most importantly, take delight in the Airing of Grievances.

I’ve mentioned Jungle Disk before as an off-site backup solution that I use. This is a link to the Security Now podcast discussing Jungle Disk.
The Dark Christmas of 2007 - Part 2
Well it appears we will not have Christmas in the dark. Two trucks from the power company (three men) showed up and turned out power back on. Don’t you just love it when they tell you that everyone’s busy on a job, then multiple people show up for your little job. I’ve noticed that Comcast will be several hours late for an appointment, then send four trucks when they do show up....
The Dark Christmas of 2007
The power company has messed up a disconnect request and disconnected our power. Worse yet is they updated our account with wrong info (wrong SSN, DOB, phone #, employer, wife’s info, etc) so they said to get power back on, I had to go get their mess straightened out at the local office. The problem is that the office is closed until Wednesday!!!
After a LONG conversation with several...
Best of 2007 - Music
Here’s a list of my favorite music of the year. I just searched my iTunes library for all music released in 2007, then went through and pulled out the songs / albums I listen to the most. Here’s what I ended up with…
First, let’s look at albums in order of which I enjoy the most:
Chevelle - Vena Sera
This was a GREAT CD by one of my all-time favorite bands. There’s...
One Of Us Is An Idiot
Here at work, we’re in need of a specific service that would be easier to just outsource. Today, we begin calling around looking for quotes. On company we took a look at only sells its services through resellers. We contacted a reseller who quoted us the service at over $91,000 per year. We asked several times for clarification and for him to check that quote and he assured us that was...
XL Video Shoot...Yes, Shoot
So tonight, Jarrod and I headed out to get some footage for an XL video. We pretty much improvised most of it and goofed around. You’ll have to watch the video Sunday to see what all we did, but let’s just say SHOTS FIRED and COPS CALLED. Wow…what a night!

Good / Not So Good
So you can tell by my last post that I’m a Metallica mood. Well, let’s continue.
Probably my favorite Metallica song is Fuel. Here’s a great version of the song that Metallica did with the San Francisco Symphony:
And here’s a version done by a bluegrass band:

XL Band Set List
Hector and friends filled in again tonight to give the XL band a break. They did a great job again this week. The set list was: “Is It Any Wonder” by Keane “Typical” by Mute Math “Hanging By A Moment” by Lifehouse “Something’s Missing” by John Mayer “The Real Jesus” by Downhere Finally, we addressed the myth that you can’t...
I decided to set up the camera in the corner to record while Craig and I (with Isaiah’s help) worked on lights at XL. This is an hour’s worth of continuous footage sped up to fit in a minute and a half video. I’m not sure why anyone would want to see this. I just thought it would be a fun idea.
A Blog Of Apologies
So it seems Becki has felt the need to express her sympathy for those whose lives I have enhanced, either in person, via video, or here on my blog. She’s started her own blog at mypov.tumblr.com to share her point of view on various things. She says she’ll use the blog as a platform to apologize for what I do, so the way I see it, I have permission to step it up!
Happy Anniversary To Me
It was December 12, 2003 when I said goodbye to my 8 months pregnant wife and 1 year old Braden and moved to Rome (they followed a few weeks later after I found a place to live up here). So today marks 4 years that I’ve lived in Rome. What’s the proper gift to get yourself for your 4 year anniversary of leaving your kid and pregnant wife and moving 9 hours away?
Jason: How long will these pralines you made for our office Christmas party last?
Becki: A couple of days, why?
Jason: So you're telling me they won't last until the Christmas party next week?
(Becki had made pralines for my work's Christmas party...a week early.)
